Russ Hepworth-Sawyer

About

Russ Hepworth-Sawyer is a sound engineer and producer with over two decades’ experience of all things audio and is a member of the Audio Engineering Society and is the co-chair of the UK's Mastering Group. Russ is a former board member of the Music Producer’s Guild where he helped form their Mastering Group.

Through MOTTOsound (www.mottosound.com), Russ works freelance in the industry as a mastering engineer, researcher, writer and business consultant. Clients include Warner Brothers, Universal, as well as countless artists.

Russ currently teaches part-time at York St John University & York Business School and has lectured in Higher Education at institutions including Leeds College of Music, London College of Music, University of Huddersfield and Rose Bruford College. He has written for Music Tech Magazine, Pro Sound News Europe and Sound On Sound. Russ currently is the series managing editor for Perspectives On Music Production with Routledge and has written many titles for Focal Press.
